Ghazal
Ghazal is a brand of Indian basmati rice from the exporter Bansal Finefoods of Karnal in the state of Haryana. From Ghazal we stock parboiled sella basmati Deluxe rice in a large 20 kg bag.
Bansal Finefoods of Karnal, a rice-growing area in northern India, continues a family tradition dating back to 1940. It processes rice in mills using Bühler technology and exports it to dozens of countries; Ghazal, alongside the Marshal brand, is its main export product. The company holds ISO, HACCP and BRC certifications and regularly exhibits at the Gulfood, SIAL and Anuga trade fairs.
What we stock
Basmati Deluxe in a 20 kg bag is sella rice – it is steamed before husking, so once cooked it is firm, fluffy and does not stick. The large bag is intended for restaurants, caterers and households that cook rice often. It is ideal for biryani, pilaf and Indian curries.
Rinse the rice before cooking; sella basmati usually needs to cook a little longer than ordinary white basmati. Follow the instructions on the pack and let the rice rest under the lid for a few minutes after cooking.
