Kemen
Kemen (Chinese 陳克明, Chen Keming) is a Chinese noodle maker from Hunan province. From Kemen we stock unfrozen fresh ramen and udon noodles in 200 g packs, ready in a minute.
The company was founded in 1984 by Chen Keming in Nanxian County, Hunan province, near Dongting Lake. It started with dried noodles, and in 2012 it was listed on the Shenzhen stock exchange as the first Chinese company focused mainly on dried noodles. Today it makes noodles, instant meals, flour and other foods at several plants across China.
What we stock
Ramen (thin noodles) and udon (thick wheat noodles) are unfrozen fresh noodles in 200 g packs that just need warming through briefly. For soup, put them into about half a litre of boiling stock and cook for at least a minute. For a stir-fry, first fry meat or vegetables, then add the noodles and toss them with the sauce.
Udon goes well in a broth with mushrooms and spring onion or stir-fried as yaki udon with teriyaki sauce, while ramen suits a miso or soy broth with an egg and a slice of meat.
