Kiwi
Kiwi is a Thai brand of kitchen knives from Kiwi and Kom-Kom Products of Bangkok. From Kiwi we stock a cleaver with a wooden handle and a 20.3 cm blade (model no. 850).
The Bangkok company Kiwi and Kom-Kom Products has made and sold kitchen knives under two brands – the affordable Kiwi and the pricier Kom-Kom – for more than 40 years. Kiwi stainless steel knives are made in Thailand and have a loyal following among cooks worldwide thanks to their thin, sharp blades and low price; they are so popular that they are even counterfeited.
What we stock
The no. 850 cleaver has a 20.3 cm (8-inch) stainless steel blade, an overall length of 33 cm and a wooden handle. It is ideal for chopping poultry and smaller bones, portioning meat and roughly chopping vegetables.
Wash the knife by hand with a soft sponge and dry it straight away – it is not dishwasher-safe, as the wooden handle would dry out. Treat the handle with food-safe oil from time to time and do not leave the blade in contact with vinegar or fish sauce for long.
