Lotte
Lotte is a Korean food and retail group founded in Tokyo in 1948, known among other things for its Pepero chocolate sticks. From Lotte we stock Pepero Original and Pepero with almonds.
The Lotte group was founded in Tokyo in 1948 by the Korean businessman Shin Kyuk-ho; the name comes from Charlotte in Goethe's novel The Sorrows of Young Werther. The Korean confectionery company Lotte Confectionery was established in Seoul in 1967 and has been called Lotte Wellfood since 2023. Among other things, it owns the Belgian chocolate maker Guylian.
Pepero
Lotte has made these thin biscuit sticks dipped in chocolate since 1983. In Korea, Pepero Day is celebrated on 11 November – the date 11.11 recalls four sticks, and people give them to each other as gifts on that day; around 60% of the year's sales happen around this date. Pepero is now exported to more than 50 countries.
What we stock
Pepero Original (47 g) with a chocolate coating and Pepero Almond (32 g) with a coating and crushed almonds. Ideal with coffee, on the go and as a small gift – not only on 11 November.
