Miyata is a brand of Japanese cooking ingredients from the Chinese food company Lian Yi Group of Guangzhou. From Miyata we stock mirin – a sweet, alcohol-free rice seasoning.
Lian Yi Group was founded in Guangzhou in 1999 and makes Chinese foods and ingredients for Japanese cooking under the ChainKwo and Miyata brands. Its Miyata Sushi Expert range includes mirin, sushi vinegar and nori seaweed, and it exports to EU countries and beyond; in Germany its products are distributed by the importer Kreyenhop & Kluge.
What we stock
Mirin (500 ml glass bottle) is a sweet rice seasoning used in Japanese cooking. Traditional hon-mirin contains around 14% alcohol; this version is alcohol-free, so it also suits dishes where you do not want alcohol.
Mirin gives sauces a gentle sweetness and shine – it belongs in teriyaki, in glazes for grilled fish or eel, in noodle broths and in the vinegar mix for sushi rice.
