Otafuku
Otafuku is a Japanese sauce maker from Hiroshima, best known for its okonomiyaki sauce. From Otafuku we stock yakisoba noodle sauce in a 253 ml bottle.
The company was founded in 1922 by Seiichi Sasaki in Hiroshima as a shop selling soy sauce and sake. From 1938 it made vinegar, after the war sauces, and in 1952 it launched a sauce made specially for Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki. Today Otafuku holds more than 80% of the okonomiyaki sauce market in Japan, also produces in the USA, China and Malaysia, and exports to more than 50 countries.
The logo is the smiling face of Otafuku-san, and according to the company the name means bringing happiness to as many people as possible. In Hiroshima the company runs the Wood Egg okonomiyaki museum in an egg-shaped wooden building.
