Grig

The brand was started in Brno by Adam Dostál, who first became interested in edible insects as a teenager at a summer camp. The company was founded in 2018 and fine-tuned its first recipes with Mendel University. It processes the insects in its own facility in Brno – the mealworms come from a farm in Jaroměřice nad Rokytnou, the crickets from a farm in Lithuania.

What we stock

Dried mealworms (salt, parmesan, garlic, chilli, salted caramel), crunchy crickets with wasabi, dried grasshoppers salted or with chilli, and crickets in chocolate with salted caramel. They make a savoury snack with beer, a garnish for salads and soups, or a gift for adventurous tasters. The bags of 8 to 35 grams are light, so they fit easily into a backpack for a trip.
