Grig Dried Mealworms are the larvae of the yellow mealworm beetle (Tenebrio molitor), which are dried and flavoured. This variety has a cheese flavour with parmesan. The result is a crispy, salty snack that can be eaten straight from the bag without any further preparation.
The taste is intense and salty, reminiscent of cheese puffs. Anyone who has not yet tried edible insects will find this a fairly easy way to start. Larvae are part of both Asian and modern European cuisine. They can be eaten on their own as a crunchy snack, or sprinkled over a salad, soup or cheese platter.
