Crunchy Garlic Worms from the Czech brand Wormup are dried and roasted mealworm larvae (Tenebrio molitor), lightly seasoned with garlic and salt. They taste more like a crispy salty snack than anything exotic, and the garlic is distinct but does not overpower the flavour of the worms themselves.
According to the manufacturer, the insects are raised and packaged in the Czech Republic. Edible insects are often presented as a more economical alternative to traditional meat, because they consume less feed and water during farming.
