Lobo is a Thai brand of seasoning mixes, sauces and ingredients from Globo Foods in Samut Prakan province. From Lobo we stock fine panko breadcrumbs in 1 kg packs.
The brand was founded by Akom Palanuwech, who came up with the idea of selling Thai spices in sachets while studying in the USA. The first Lobo products – a seasoning for roast pork, a satay mix and an agar dessert – came onto the market in 1977. Today the family company Globo Foods offers more than 200 seasoning mixes, pastes and dessert mixes, sells them in Thailand and abroad, and in 2013 received the Thai Prime Minister's Export Award.
What we stock
Panko breadcrumbs (1 kg) are a Japanese type of breadcrumb made from crustless bread; the fine version has smaller flakes. Coated food comes out crispier and lighter than with ordinary breadcrumbs.
Coat in the classic way – flour, egg, panko – and deep-fry in oil or bake in the oven or an air fryer. Panko is ideal for tonkatsu cutlets, chicken katsu, prawns, fish and croquettes, and as a crispy topping for gratins.
