Mrs Bridges is a Scottish brand of preserves, marmalades and sauces from Arbroath, made by Mackays. From Mrs Bridges we stock fruit preserves with champagne and prosecco, and cranberry sauce with port.
The Mrs Bridges brand was created in 1967 and today offers more than 150 preserves, marmalades, chutneys and mustards. It is made by Mackays of Arbroath in Angus, Scotland's largest producer of jams and marmalades; the fruit is cooked the traditional way in open copper pans. Mrs Bridges is exported to more than 80 countries and is easy to spot by its jar with a lid shaped like a mob cap with a bow.
The brand takes its name from Kate Bridges, the Bellamy family's cook in the British TV series Upstairs, Downstairs.
What we stock
Strawberry preserve with champagne, peach preserve with prosecco and orange marmalade with champagne go well with toast, croissants and pancakes, and in cakes. Cranberry sauce with port is a traditional accompaniment to turkey, duck, game or cheese, such as baked camembert. The jars with their decorative lids also make a lovely gift.
