Samlip
Samlip is a South Korean bakery company in the SPC group that has been baking bread and pastries in Korea since 1945. It is famous for its cream bread and hoppang, filled winter buns.
The company's beginnings go back to 1945, when Hur Chang-sung opened the Sangmidang bakery. Samlip Bakery was founded in 1959; in 1964 it launched its cream bread and in 1971 steamed filled hoppang buns – still a favourite Korean winter snack. Samlip was also the official bakery supplier to the 1986 Asian Games and the 1988 Seoul Olympics. Samlip has been listed on the Korean stock exchange since 1975 and belongs to the SPC group, which also includes the Paris Baguette bakeries.
Today the company makes bread, pastries, buns and ready meals. In 2022 it attracted attention in Korea by relaunching pastries with Pokémon stickers, and in recent years its products have also been reaching shops abroad.
