Sempio is a South Korean maker of soy sauce and other fermented staples since 1946. We stock Jin soy sauce, sauces for Korean dishes, seaweed snacks, soba noodles and tea.
The company was founded in Seoul in 1946, and Sempio is the oldest registered trademark in Korea – it was registered in 1954. It is the market leader for soy sauce in Korea; in 1987 it opened Korea's largest soy sauce factory in Icheon, and since 2013 it has run its own fermentation research centre. It exports to more than 70 countries.
What we stock
Jin soy sauce for everyday cooking and ready-made sauces for Korean dishes – BBQ with gochujang for chicken, sauce for japchae glass noodles and for stir-fried octopus. Also seaweed snacks with sesame, chilli or barbecue seasoning, stir-fried kimchi in a tin, buckwheat soba noodles and a tea of lotus root, burdock and brown rice. The ready-made sauces are portioned for one to three servings, so you can make a Korean dinner from just a few ingredients.
