Kikkoman Soy Sauce Less Salt is a Japanese soy sauce (shōyu) from the brand that brews it in the city of Noda, and whose tradition dates back to the 17th century. Compared with the classic Kikkoman variety, it has a lower salt content, but the flavour remains typically soy, salty and distinctly umami.
It is used in the same way as regular soy sauce. It is suitable as a dip for sushi and sashimi, in marinades for meat, fish or tofu, with stir-fried dishes, noodles and rice, and in soups and dressings. Thanks to its milder saltiness, it is easier to season to taste.
