Product description
Matamun rice cakes are the basis of tteokbokki, one of the most famous Korean street foods. They are shaped like cylindrical tubes, are unseasoned, and are made from rice in South Korea. The chewy texture is typical of tteok and holds up well with sauces.
For tteokbokki, the cakes are usually cooked in a spicy sauce, for example one made with gochujang, and are complemented with fish cakes (eomuk), boiled eggs, or spring onions. They are also suitable for soups.
Preparation
- For soup: rinse the cakes before use.
- For tteokbokki: soak them in water for 15 minutes and then use them in the recipe.
- Store in a cool, dry place.
The package contains sachets with a protective agent. They are not food, so discard them before preparation.
The package contains 3 sachets of 200 g each.
