Yakisoba is one of the most popular Japanese stir-fried dishes. Traditionally, it consists of fried wheat noodles with vegetables, often with pork, flavoured with a sweet and sour sauce. This package from the Hiroshima brand Otafuku contains two servings of noodles and sauce, so the base of the dish is ready.
How to Use
Noodles are pre-cooked and long-lasting, and all you need to prepare them is a frying pan or wok. The process is simple:
- sauté vegetables, for example cabbage, carrot or onion, or meat, prawns or tofu
- add the noodles and heat briefly
- pour over the sauce and mix
The result can be topped with pickled ginger, nori seaweed or mayonnaise, as yakisoba is often served in Japan.
The sauce in the product contains soy sauce and the noodles contain wheat, which is important to know if you have a soy or gluten allergy.
