Elderflower syrup is a sweet, fragrant drink for dilution. It has a subtly floral and unmistakable taste, because it is made from an extract of elderflowers. The base is a herbal extract of water and elderflower, which makes up half the contents of the bottle.
The syrup is diluted with water in a ratio of 1:8, that is, roughly one part syrup to eight parts water. You can adjust the ratio according to taste. A single 0.5 l bottle thus makes several half-litre glasses of the drink.
How to Use the Syrup
- cold lemonade made with water, sparkling water or soda, with ice and a slice of lemon
- hot drink for winter evenings, for example steeped in hot water or tea
- summer drinks and cocktails, where it adds a floral sweetness
- a topping for desserts, for example yogurt or ice cream
