Product description
What is it
Samyang Buldak Cheese is a South Korean instant ramen in a 140 g pack. It belongs to the Buldak line, which Samyang Foods made famous around the world. The name translates to "fire chicken," and the chicken sauce with chili is the basis of the flavor. In this variant, it is complemented by a cheese flavor that softens the spiciness.
It's not a noodle soup. The noodles are cooked, drained and mixed with a thick sauce, resulting in a hearty dish similar to saucy noodles.
Taste and Properties
The flavor is spicy, strongly seasoned and slightly sweet, with chicken and garlic notes. The cheese flavor gives a creamier impression, which is why this variety is usually more pleasant for those who like heat but do not want an extreme level. The noodles are wheat-based, smooth on the surface and hold the sauce well. The package also includes a sachet with a topping of toasted sesame seeds and nori seaweed.
Caution, allergens: the product contains wheat (gluten), soy, celery and sesame. It may also contain traces of other allergens; a complete list can be found in the ingredients.
Preparation
Instructions according to the label:
- Place the noodles into 600 ml of boiling water and cook for 5 minutes.
- Drain the water, leaving only about 8 tablespoons.
- Add the contents of the sachets and stir everything thoroughly for 30 seconds.
The less water you leave, the thicker and more intense the sauce will be.
Usage and Tips
Ramen makes a quick lunch or dinner. The spiciness can be softened with milk, rice, or added cheese. If you want to add more flavour to the dish, add hard-boiled or fried eggs, vegetables, or pieces of chicken. Be careful with the heat, especially when tasting it for the first time.
