Samyang Ramen Original Soup 120g

What is it

Samyang Ramen Original is an instant noodle soup of the ramen type from South Korea. It is manufactured by Samyang Foods, which in 1963 launched the very first Korean instant ramen onto the market. This ramen from its range is among the basic classics. The 120 g package contains a portion of noodles, a sachet with a seasoning mix, and a sachet with vegetable flakes.

Taste and Properties

The soup is spicy, but not as extreme as the well-known Buldak noodles. The broth has a pronounced flavour, salty and seasoned. It is seasoned with soy sauce, chilli, black pepper and garlic oil. The wheat noodles are thinner and soft after cooking. They come with flakes of bok choy, chives, carrot and cabbage.

The product is labelled as vegan and halal. It contains wheat, soy and celery. It may also contain traces of other allergens; their list can be found in the ingredients.

Preparation

• Add the noodles and the contents of both sachets to 550 ml of boiling water.
• Cook for 4 minutes.
• Stir and serve.

Usage and Tips

Ramen is a quick meal for lunch, dinner, or a snack. To suit your taste, you can add:

• a hard-boiled or soft-boiled egg,
• fresh vegetables, for example spring onions or spinach,
• kimchi,
• tofu.

If you prefer a milder soup, you can use only part of the seasoning from the packet.
