What is it
Ottogi Cheese Ramen is a Korean instant wheat noodle in a pouch. Inside you will find noodles, a packet of soup seasoning, dried vegetables, and a separate cheese mix. It is made by the South Korean food manufacturer Ottogi, which is known at home mainly for its instant curry and Jin ramen.
Unlike classic spicy Korean ramen, these noodles have a cheesy flavour. The cheese powder is added to the soup only at the end.
Taste and properties
The base is a salty, spiced broth made from soup seasoning. It tastes of soy sauce and garlic, and it also contains ginger, pepper and a little chilli. Cheese powder smooths the broth and makes the soup creamier.
It includes dried vegetables: carrot, cabbage, spinach and corn.
The package contains wheat, soy and milk.
Preparation
- Pour 550 ml of water over the dried vegetables and bring to the boil.
- Add the noodles and soup seasoning.
- Cook for 4 minutes.
- Stir in the cheese mix and serve immediately.
Usage and Tips
The soup is ready quickly, so it is suitable for lunch or a quick dinner. You can enrich it to taste, for example with an egg, spring onion or pieces of meat. These are just ideas, not written on the packaging.
